About

Simbavati Lake Ndutu sits on the tranquil shores of Lake Ndutu in the southern Serengeti and Ndutu region, at the heart of the wildebeest calving grounds. Game wanders close to camp across the open country, and from December to March the plains fill with newborn wildebeest and the predators that follow them, one of the most concentrated wildlife spectacles in Africa.

Outside the calving season the area stays rewarding, with year round predator activity and an impressive array of big cats. Lion and cheetah are frequent across the short grass plains, and leopard work the woodland fringes. Five safari tents and one family tent are finished with king beds that convert to twins and en-suite bathrooms with outdoor showers.

A swimming pool and lantern lit boma dinners under the stars complete an intimate, well appointed camp. It is a calm, characterful base for the southern Serengeti.
