Olkambe Simba Lodge by Simba Portfolio
A hilltop lodge above Tarangire with an infinity pool and views across three lakes.
About
Olkambe Simba Lodge is the newest property in the Simba Portfolio, set high on the Olkambe Hills above the western side of Tarangire, near the Sangaiwe gate. From the ridge the views open across three lakes, Manyara, Burunge and the Tarangire plains, a vantage point quite unlike the valley floor camps below.
Tarangire is known for its enormous elephant herds and its skyline of ancient baobabs, and it stays quieter than the Serengeti and the Crater through much of the year. The hills around the lodge are fed by natural springs that draw wildlife, and game drives reach the heart of the park along the Tarangire River.
Seventeen permanently built tented suites are designed for comfort, each with a private balcony, a freestanding copper bath, an ensuite bathroom and both an indoor and an outdoor shower, finished with hardwood furniture. A hilltop infinity pool, a spa, a restaurant, a bar and lounge, and an outdoor fireplace make the most of the setting, all on solar power.
It is an intimate, polished base for Tarangire, and it pairs naturally with the other Simba lodges across the northern circuit.
