Whisper Tarangire
A Swiss boutique tented camp tucked into the heart of Tarangire National Park.
About
Whisper Tarangire is a small, owner-run Swiss boutique camp set just inside Tarangire National Park, at Njia-Panda ya Mamire. The setting is classic Tarangire country: open mixed woodland studded with ancient baobabs, with elephant herds, eland, and the park's famous fringe-eared oryx all drifting through the area. By the river in the dry season the wildlife concentrations are extraordinary, and the location keeps you well off the main game drive routes used by larger camps farther north.
The camp itself is intentionally low key. Tents are generously sized, each with a private veranda and en suite bathroom, finished in warm canvas and natural fabrics rather than the polished safari-resort look. Full board is included, the camp absorbs VAT and the Tanzania Development Levy on your behalf, and every stay includes a complimentary bush dinner under the stars.
It is a friendly, easygoing camp that suits first time safari travellers, families, and anyone who wants the bush close to camp without the formality of higher tier lodges. The team is hands on and quick to help with last minute changes, and the kitchen is happy to put together extras like a celebration cake for a birthday or anniversary.
