Malaika Seronera Luxury Camp

Twelve tents in total: ten Luxury Tents and two interconnecting Luxury Family Tents. All tents are wheelchair accessible.

The camp is open year round. Central Serengeti delivers resident lion, leopard, and cheetah twelve months a year.

By light aircraft from Arusha to Seronera airstrip (around 1 hour, then 45 minutes by vehicle), or by road from Arusha at roughly 375 kilometres and six hours.

Yes. Children under five are complimentary; children between five and twelve at half the adult sharing rate when sharing with adults. The Family Tent fits two adults and two children.

Full board with mineral water at meals, VAT, and TDL. Park entry, concession, camping fees, drinks beyond water, and laundry are charged separately.

Central Serengeti runs strong year round. June through October are driest; January through March bring the calving migration just to the south.

The camp runs 24 hour electricity at 220 volts, and every tent has a hot shower and a flush toilet. Bring a universal adaptor. Charging a camera or a laptop overnight is not a problem here, which is not true of every camp in the central Serengeti.

Wireless internet reaches the main tent and is weaker out in the guest tents, so plan to do anything that matters from the main area. Each tent carries a two way radio for calling the team, which is the reliable way to reach reception at night.

Malaika states that its tents at Seronera are wheelchair accessible, and the lounge, restaurant and public washroom are described as accessible as well. Bush camps vary a great deal in what that means in practice, so tell us before booking and we will confirm the exact tent, the pathway surface and the bathroom layout with the camp in writing.

The Seronera river keeps water in the valley all year, so the resident game stays put: lion on the kopjes, leopard along the river corridor and cheetah out on the open grass. The herds pass through on the shoulders, roughly April to June heading north and November to December heading back south. A stay here in February or in September is about cats rather than about crowds of wildebeest.

Yes. From 1 October 2026 visitors entering mainland Tanzania must hold the government inbound travel insurance, 44 USD per adult and valid for up to 92 days, covering emergency medical care, evacuation, repatriation and lost luggage. Children aged 3 to 17 pay half and infants under 3 are free. It is bought online before you fly or on arrival, and residents of Tanzania and of East African and SADC countries are exempt. If you land in Zanzibar first, the Zanzibar policy covers you instead. It is paid by you directly and is not part of your trip price.
