About
Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge sits on a hilltop in the central Serengeti, with floor-to-ceiling glass-fronted tents looking out over the surrounding plains. A swimming pool perches at the edge of the kopje, the food programme is unusually thoughtful for the central Serengeti, and the position keeps the lodge within minutes of the Seronera River Valley — the region's premier leopard country.
Central Serengeti is the one zone of the park that holds resident wildlife year-round. Lions hold the surrounding kopjes (the granite outcrops that inspired Disney's Pride Rock), leopards work the sausage trees along the Seronera River, and cheetah hunt the open plains east of camp. The Great Migration also passes through central Serengeti twice annually — northward in April-June and southward in October-December — which makes the area flexible for migration tracking without the long drives needed from camps further north or south.
The accommodation runs Standard Tent Single, Double, and Triple configurations, plus an Interconnected Family Room for families travelling together. Each tent has hardwood floors, en-suite bathroom, and the signature floor-to-ceiling glass looking out from the hilltop. The dining room and main lounge sit at the highest point of the kopje for the broadest panorama.

Access is by Cessna flight from Arusha to Seronera airstrip (1hr 15min including the road transfer JRO to Arusha Airport), then a 30-minute game-drive transfer to camp.

Seronera Central Serengeti
Fly-in: Approximately 2hr 30min total: 1hr JRO to Arusha Airport (ARK), then a 1hr 15min Cessna to Seronera airstrip, then a 30-minute game-drive transfer to camp.
Drive: Approximately 8 hours total via Arusha, Karatu, Ngorongoro highlands, and the western corridor. Bush flight is the standard route.
