The lodge has five room categories, Meliá Lagoon View, Meliá Savannah Panoramic, Junior Suite, One Bedroom Suite, and Two Bedroom Suite, across the property on Nyamuma Hills.

Year round. Four pricing seasons run across the calendar: Low (April to May), Shoulder (March, November to mid December), High (January to February, September to October), and Peak (June to August, late December to early January).

By light aircraft to Seronera airstrip (around 2 hours total from Kilimanjaro), then a short game drive transfer. Road from Arusha takes two days via Manyara or Ngorongoro.

Yes. Children under 4 stay free. Children 4 to 11.99 years sharing with 2 adults pay 50 percent of the adult rate. Children 12 and over pay the adult rate. The Junior, One Bedroom, and Two Bedroom Suites suit families with their separate lounge layouts.

Full board dining at Savannah Restaurant, selected soft drinks with meals, daily housekeeping, 18 percent VAT, and 5 percent service charge. Park entry fees, concession, TDL, transfers, game drive vehicle hire, and soft drinks are not included.

Yes. A $30 per person per night Easter supplement applies over the Easter window. A $40 per person per night Christmas and New Year supplement applies on 24, 25, 26 December and 31 December plus 1 January. These are charged when a stay covers the dated windows.

Year round. The central Serengeti has consistent big cat sightings every month. The migration passes through in November to December on its southward leg and again April to June on the way back north.

WiFi reaches the rooms and the main areas and is fine for messages and email rather than long video calls. Mobile signal on the Nyamuma Hills is variable and disappears altogether once you are out on the plains. Most guests find that a day or two offline turns out to be part of what they came for.

The lodge runs 24 hour electricity, largely from its own solar, so cameras and phones charge overnight in the room. Sockets are the British style three pin type, so bring an adapter if your plugs are two pin. A spare battery or a power bank is still worth carrying for a full day out in the vehicle.

Staff hold first aid training and the lodge keeps a kit on site. The nearest clinic is at Seronera, a short transfer away, and anything serious is flown out from Seronera airstrip. We ask every guest to travel with medical evacuation cover.

The resident lion, leopard and cheetah of the Seronera valley stay put all year, so the game viewing holds up in every month. March to May and November bring rain, usually in short heavy bursts that clear within the hour rather than all day weather. The plains are green and close to empty of other vehicles in those weeks, which is why photographers often choose them.

Yes. From 1 October 2026 visitors entering mainland Tanzania must hold the government inbound travel insurance, 44 USD per adult and valid for up to 92 days, covering emergency medical care, evacuation, repatriation and lost luggage. Children aged 3 to 17 pay half and infants under 3 are free. It is bought online before you fly or on arrival, and residents of Tanzania and of East African and SADC countries are exempt. If you land in Zanzibar first, the Zanzibar policy covers you instead. It is paid by you directly and is not part of your trip price.
