Yes. Because the lodge sits in the Ikoma wilderness rather than inside the national park, guided evening drives are possible in the dry season.

Most fly to Fort Ikoma airstrip, about 20 to 30 minutes from the lodge. Overland from Arusha is roughly 7 to 8 hours.

Yes. Children aged six and over are welcome, and the stone house has family rooms. Under thirteens share a room with an adult.

Full board with three meals daily, tea and coffee, and bottled water in the room. Park fees, wilderness fees, game drives and drinks other than water are charged separately.

Not around the clock. Lighting and hot water are solar, and the power strip in each room is live while the lodge generator runs, which is about six hours a day. A charging station at reception runs day and night for camera batteries. Hair dryers cannot be used, and any guest who travels with a breathing machine needs one that runs on its own battery.

Free wireless internet reaches the indoor common areas rather than the rooms or the pool deck. Mobile signal on this side of the Serengeti is patchy, so treat the stay as time away from the screen.

No. The lodge sits on a hilltop with paths and steps between the rondavels and the main areas, and the operator states plainly that it is not suitable for guests who have difficulty walking. Tell us before booking if mobility is a concern and we will suggest a flatter property nearby.

Travel and medical insurance is not included in the rate, and cover that includes emergency air evacuation matters here because the lodge sits a long way from hospital services. Ikoma airstrip is about twenty minutes away and is the route out for anything serious, with weather and daylight governing the timing.

Yes. From 1 October 2026 visitors entering mainland Tanzania must hold the government inbound travel insurance, 44 USD per adult and valid for up to 92 days, covering emergency medical care, evacuation, repatriation and lost luggage. Children aged 3 to 17 pay half and infants under 3 are free. It is bought online before you fly or on arrival, and residents of Tanzania and of East African and SADC countries are exempt. If you land in Zanzibar first, the Zanzibar policy covers you instead. It is paid by you directly and is not part of your trip price.
