Most fly to Fort Ikoma airstrip, about 20 minutes from camp. Arrivals via Seronera add a roughly 2 hour game drive. Overland from Arusha is about 7 to 8 hours.

The western corridor migration moves through broadly May to July, and resident wildlife is strong year round. The camp closes 1 April to 15 May.

Yes. Children aged six and over are welcome, with two family tents available.

Simbavati publishes wireless internet in the main lodge area only, so the tents themselves stay offline. Bandwidth this far west is shared and comes and goes, so treat it as enough for messages home rather than for work calls.

Ten luxury safari tents sit under high canvas, each with a king bed, an ensuite bathroom with an indoor and an outdoor shower, and a double vanity. The two family tents add a second bedroom with twin beds off the main room.

The camp takes children from six years, and guided walks are for guests of twelve and over with at least two walkers booked. Walks are arranged in advance rather than on the morning, so tell us when you book and we will hold them for you.

Three. Guests flying in land at Fort Ikoma airstrip about twenty minutes away, so an early arrival still leaves an afternoon out, and the country between camp and the park boundary rewards a full day of its own.

Yes. From 1 October 2026 visitors entering mainland Tanzania must hold the government inbound travel insurance, 44 USD per adult and valid for up to 92 days, covering emergency medical care, evacuation, repatriation and lost luggage. Children aged 3 to 17 pay half and infants under 3 are free. It is bought online before you fly or on arrival, and residents of Tanzania and of East African and SADC countries are exempt. If you land in Zanzibar first, the Zanzibar policy covers you instead. It is paid by you directly and is not part of your trip price.
