About
Malaika Ndutu Migration Camp is the southern half of Malaika's mobile camp brand. From December through April it pitches on the Ndutu plains inside the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, in the same short-grass country the calving herds use for birthing. Sixteen Standard Tents on a clean, simple footprint, full board served in the mess tent, set up for early game drives into the heart of the calving action.
The Migration Camp is the mid-range alternative to Malaika Ndutu Luxury Camp next door. Same neighbourhood, same wildlife window, simpler tents at a friendlier price point.
The calving migration peaks in February. Cheetah and leopard hold the open plains, lion prides stake the kopjes, and the short-grass surface makes for some of the best safari photography of the year.
Access is by light aircraft to Ndutu airstrip (about 1 hour from Arusha plus a 45-minute vehicle transfer) or by road from Arusha at roughly 260 kilometres and five to six hours.
