Sixty eight rooms and six suites, seventy four in all. Three categories are sold: the Savannah Room as a single, double, twin or triple, the Savannah Suite, and the Family Room for up to four guests. Three rooms interconnect for families travelling together and three are built for wheelchair access.

Year round. The central Serengeti holds wildlife in every season, so the lodge keeps no closed period.

By light aircraft from Arusha Airport to Seronera airstrip, about one hour in the air, then a transfer of about forty five minutes on to the lodge. The drive from Arusha is a long day of roughly seven hours, so almost everybody flies.

Yes. The Family Room sleeps up to four, three rooms interconnect, and there is a bushcraft centre for younger guests. The guided walking safari carries a minimum age of sixteen, so plan around that if the children are small.

Accommodation, all meals, soft drinks, daily laundry, twice daily scheduled game drives, the boma dinner and the Seronera airstrip transfer. Not included: park and concession fees, vehicle entry, flights, gratuities, the walking safari, the rhino tracking excursion and the chef tasting dinner.

Year round. June to October is the driest stretch and the easiest driving. The migration moves north through the central plains between April and June and back south between October and December.

Yes. Complimentary wifi reaches the rooms as well as the guest areas, and there is mobile coverage on the ridge. Signal anywhere in the Serengeti comes and goes, so treat a video call as a bonus rather than a plan.

Every room has a universal charging board with USB and USB C sockets, and there are charging points through the guest areas for cameras, laptops and tablets. Elewana does not publish how the lodge generates its power, so we will not state it. Tanzania runs on 230 volts with British style three pin sockets.

There is first aid on site and Seronera airstrip, about forty five minutes away, is the route out for anything serious. The contract we hold excludes flying doctor evacuation cover, so please travel with your own medical and evacuation insurance. Elewana also makes full travel insurance a condition of booking.

There is an infinity pool on the escarpment edge, a wellness centre and gym, a photographic hide reached by a tunnel from the lodge, a stargazing deck, an outdoor cinema and the boma. The walking safari and the rhino tracking excursion are booked separately.

April and May are the wettest months on the central plains. The grass grows long, the wildlife spreads out and the roads soften, so sightings take more patience. The lodge stays open, the hill stays green, and you share the plains with far fewer vehicles.

Yes. From 1 October 2026 visitors entering mainland Tanzania must hold the government inbound travel insurance, 44 USD per adult and valid for up to 92 days, covering emergency medical care, evacuation, repatriation and lost luggage. Children aged 3 to 17 pay half and infants under 3 are free. It is bought online before you fly or on arrival, and residents of Tanzania and of East African and SADC countries are exempt. If you land in Zanzibar first, the Zanzibar policy covers you instead. It is paid by you directly and is not part of your trip price.
