Serengeti Heritage Tented Camp

The camp is a small tented property on Turner 12 in the central Serengeti, with single, double, triple, and quad tents available.

Year round. High season runs 15 December to 28 February plus 15 June to 31 October; low season runs 1 March to 14 June plus 1 November to 14 December. The low season rate is flat across every tent size.

By light aircraft to Seronera airstrip (around 2 hours total from Kilimanjaro), or by road from Arusha over two days via Manyara or Ngorongoro.

Yes. Children under 4 stay free, children 5 to 12 are charged at 50 percent of the adult rate, and children 13 and over pay the full adult rate.

Full board dining, mineral water during meals, daily housekeeping, and 18 percent VAT. Park entry fees, concession, TDL, transfers, game drive vehicle hire, and beverages beyond meal water are not included.

Year round. The central Serengeti has consistent big cat sightings every month. The flat low season rate makes March to the middle of June, and November to the middle of December, particularly good value.

Free wireless internet covers the public areas of the camp. It does not reliably reach the tents, so each tent carries a radio for calling the team at any hour, which is what you use after dark rather than walking between tents on your own. The camp does not publish mobile network coverage.

The camp runs on solar for both electricity and hot water, with a generator kept in reserve for days when the sun does not come through. Tents have electrical outlets for charging. Bring a universal adaptor and a power bank for long drive days.

No. This is Heritage's permanent camp in the Turner sector near Seronera and it stays in one place all year. Heritage runs two separate seasonal camps that do follow the herds, one at Ndutu from January to March and one at Kogatende from July to October, and those are different properties with their own rates.

Plenty, which is the point of staying in the centre. The Seronera river holds water all year, so the resident game does not leave: lion on the kopjes, leopard along the river corridor and cheetah out on the open grass. The herds themselves pass through on the shoulders, roughly April to June moving north and October to December moving south.

Yes. From 1 October 2026 visitors entering mainland Tanzania must hold the government inbound travel insurance, 44 USD per adult and valid for up to 92 days, covering emergency medical care, evacuation, repatriation and lost luggage. Children aged 3 to 17 pay half and infants under 3 are free. It is bought online before you fly or on arrival, and residents of Tanzania and of East African and SADC countries are exempt. If you land in Zanzibar first, the Zanzibar policy covers you instead. It is paid by you directly and is not part of your trip price.
