About

Serengeti Heritage Tented Camp sits on Turner 12 in the heart of the central Serengeti, the same year round game corridor as the resident big cats and the Seronera river circuit. The camp is set up for guests who want a real tented experience: canvas walls, the sounds of the bush at night, and a shared mess tent for meals.

The wildlife around Turner 12 is consistent through the year. Lion prides live on the kopje country to the south, leopards rest along the river system, and the southbound migration passes through in November and December before returning north between April and June.

Rooms are canvas tents with hot bucket showers, solar lighting, and proper beds. The camp is run on full board with mineral water during meals included. Other beverages and laundry are extra. The flat low season rate ($95 per person per night across all room sizes) makes this one of the most accessible permanent camps in the central Serengeti during the shoulder months.

Suited to budget conscious safari travellers, students, and groups who want to maximise nights in the central Serengeti without stretching the daily budget. Families do well here too if the children are comfortable with bucket showers and solar lighting.

Access is by light aircraft to Seronera airstrip (around 40 minutes by game drive transfer to the camp) or by road from Arusha over two days via Manyara or Ngorongoro.
